Public Service
***EN***
Public services have undergone increasingly virulent attacks in recent decades.
The cuts in state budgets have weakened or even wiped out most of the public services with the false idea that the private sector can do better than the state and the cooperatives and above all cheaper for the population. Neoliberalism has thus imposed any possible privatization.
Our working group aims to denounce these privatizations and to defend the character of public service in different fields, such as health, transport, energy, water, communication (radio, television), training and teaching. We have proposed the creation of a “European Observatory on Public Services” to monitor all these variations and their consequences for citizens with scientific data.
We deepen certain subjects with public conferences and meetings and participating in events organized by the EL.
