Message of support to the Palestinian people

A cycle of violence has been fueled against the Palestinian people with the new extreme rightwing government in Israel, expressing the right of “the Jewish people to all parts of Israel” and stepping up the extension of illegal Israeli settlements in the Palestinian West Bank.
This policy wipes away any aspirations of a Palestinian state and the two-state solution reiterated by the UN and is part of a coordinated attack against the legal order in Israel, curtailing the Israeli High Court. Thousands in Israel have been protesting in the streets against the weakening of the judiciary.
The European Left calls on the EU, European governments, the Council of Europe and other institutions to increase their pressure on the Israeli government by demanding and introducing sanctions against Israel such as the suspension of the EU/Israel preferential trade agreement as long as Israeli violates international law.
The European Left assures the Palestinian people of our continuing support and solidarity to achieve the rights of the Palestinian people to their own state and land.

Message de soutien au peuple palestinien
Un cycle de violence a été alimenté contre le peuple palestinien avec le nouveau gouvernement d’extrême droite en Israël, exprimant le droit du “peuple juif à toutes les parties d’Israël” et intensifiant l’extension des colonies israéliennes illégales en Cisjordanie palestinienne.
Cette politique anéantit toute aspiration à un État palestinien et à la solution à deux États réitérée par l’ONU et fait partie d’une attaque coordonnée contre l’ordre juridique en Israël, en réduisant la Haute Cour israélienne. Des milliers de personnes en Israël ont protesté dans les rues contre l’affaiblissement du système judiciaire.
Le PGE appelle l’UE, les gouvernements européens, le Conseil de l’Europe et d’autres institutions à augmenter leur pression sur le gouvernement israélien en exigeant et en introduisant des sanctions contre Israël telles que la suspension de l’accord commercial préférentiel UE/Israël tant qu’Israël viole le droit international.
Le PGE assure le peuple palestinien de notre soutien et de notre solidarité continus pour obtenir les droits du peuple palestinien à son propre Etat et à sa propre terre.
