European Left escalates Cuba campaign with formal complaint

Ahead of the 21 March International Day of Solidarity with Cuba, the European Left steps up action against the blockade and sanctions on Venezuela.

The Party of the European Left, through its President Walter Baier and International Relations Head Maite Mola, has submitted a formal complaint to international and European authorities calling for an end to the economic blockade of Cuba and sanctions against Venezuela.

This initiative comes as Europe prepares for mobilisation on 21 March, the International Day of Solidarity with Cuba, and follows ongoing support for the “Nuestra América” convoy delivering essential aid and demanding an end to the blockade.

In the complaint, the European Left denounces these measures as violations of international law, highlighting their impact on sovereignty, human rights and access to essential goods. It calls for the immediate lifting of the blockade and sanctions, an end to external interference, and full respect for international law and the self-determination of peoples.
