Engaged Solidarity: Europe Mobilises for Cuba Convoy
International movement rises to break the blockade, deliver vital aid, and defend Cuba’s sovereignty.
The Party of the European Left (EL) stands in full solidarity with the International Convoy “Nuestra América,” an act of resistance that will deliver essential aid to Cuba on March 21 by land, sea, and air—breaking through the illegal and inhumane blockade imposed by the United States.
For over 60 years, the U.S. blockade has served as a weapon of economic warfare designed to strangle Cuba and punish its people for choosing sovereignty and socialism. This policy has systematically produced shortages of medicines, fuel, food, and vital technologies. It is not only unjust—it is a blatant violation of international law and a direct assault on human dignity.
The recent tightening of energy sanctions, following the executive order signed by Donald Trump on January 29, marks a dangerous escalation of this aggression. By targeting Cuba’s energy supply, these measures deliberately disrupt electricity, transport, and basic services, intensifying the hardship imposed on millions.
The convoy “Nuestra América” is not merely a humanitarian initiative— it is a conscious political act of defiance. It embodies internationalist solidarity in action, uniting movements, organizations, and individuals across borders to confront imperialist aggression and stand firmly with the Cuban people.

The Party of the European Left calls on all progressive forces to mobilize across Europe. Solidarity is not a slogan—it is an obligation.
The struggle of Cuba is part of a global a struggle for dignity, justice, and self-determination. We urge everyone to actively contribute to this international effort to ensure the delivery of vital aid to Cuba.
