Face au déni de démocratie du gouvernement français, le PGE soutient le mouvement social et la gauche en France

Faute de majorité dans le pays et au Parlement, le gouvernement français fait le choix du chaos en imposant son projet néolibéral de contre-réforme des retraites.

Les derniers événements montrent une nouvelle fois qu’il est très minoritaire dans le pays. Une écrasante majorité de Français est opposée à cette « réforme » illégitime. C’est déjà une défaite pour Macron.

Le Parti de la Gauche Européenne réaffirme son soutien à l’unité syndicale et politique et aux mobilisations sociales et populaires massives, déterminées et exemplaires qui s’élèvent contre cette « réforme ». Il réaffirme sa solidarité avec les prochaines journées de mobilisation annoncées par l’intersyndicale. Il appelle sans réserve le gouvernement français à retirer purement et simplement son projet.

Il soutient également les prochaines initiatives politiques prises par la gauche en France, comme le recours au Conseil constitutionnel et le référendum d’initiative partagée.

Les mobilisations sociales, les propositions faites dans l’unité par tous les syndicats et le travail de toute la gauche montrent qu’une alternative sociale existe et est possible. Une autre majorité politique, s’appuyant sur le mouvement social, est possible.

Comme l’a rappelé Walter Baier, président du PGE, lors de son intervention dans la manifestation du 7 mars, la lutte du peuple français est un espoir pour l’ensemble des peuples d’Europe.

Dans toute l’Europe, le capital financier, sa logique et ses pouvoirs sont notre adversaire commun. Les politiques de destructions sociales peuvent être battues, grâce aux mobilisations populaires, à l’action syndicale et à l’action résolue de la gauche dans son ensemble.

Faced with the French government’s denial of democracy, the EL supports the social movement and the left in France

In the absence of a majority in the country and in Parliament, the French government is choosing chaos by imposing its neoliberal project of pension counter-reform.

The latest events show once again that it is in a very small minority in the country. An overwhelming majority of French people are opposed to this illegitimate “reform”. This is already a defeat for Macron.

The Party of the European Left reaffirms its support for trade union and political unity and for the massive, determined and exemplary social and popular mobilisations against this “reform”. It reaffirms its solidarity with the next days of mobilisation announced by the inter-union. It unreservedly calls on the French government to simply withdraw its project.

It also supports the forthcoming political initiatives taken by the left in France, such as the appeal to the Constitutional Council and the shared initiative referendum.

The social mobilisations, the proposals made in unity by all the trade unions and the work of the whole left show that a social alternative exists and is possible. Another political majority, based on the social movement, is possible.

As Walter Baier, President of the EL, reminded us during his intervention in the demonstration on 7 March, the struggle of the French people is a hope for all the peoples of Europe.

Throughout Europe, financial capital, its logic and its powers are our common enemy. The policies of social destruction can be defeated, thanks to popular mobilisations, trade union action and the resolute action of the left as a whole.
