WE SALUTE THE ABORTION RIGHT IN FRANCE
The Party of the European Left salutes the great step forward for women’s rights in France.
Thanks to a battle waged by feminist movements, relayed by feminist elected representatives, including some from member parties of the European Left Party, the French Parliament has decided to enshrine the right to abortion as a fundamental right in the French Constitution.
This is a major humanist step forward, and one that will be followed by others for women’s rights in Europe. The European Union itself can also seize this opportunity to enshrine the right to abortion as a fundamental right in Europe.
The #Metoo Movement, originated by American feminists, is still sweeping the world. By enshrining the right to abortion in the constitution, French feminists are sending a universal sign to all women, wherever they may be, that their struggle, past, present and future, is not in vain, quite the contrary.
The Party of the European Left, its member parties and its spitzenkandidat stand shoulder to shoulder with feminist movements and are committed to relaying their humanist struggles.
NOUS SALUONS L’INCLUSION DU DROIT À L’AVORTEMENT EN FRANCE
Le Parti de la Gauche Européenne salut la grande avancée pour les droits des femmes en France.
Grâce à une bataille des mouvements féministes, relayée par des élues féministes, dont certaines des partis membres du parti de la gauche européenne, le parlement français a décidé d’inscrire le droit à l’avortement, comme un droit fondamental, dans la constitution française.
C’est une avancée humaniste majeure qui en appelle d’autres pour les droits des femmes en Europe.L’Union européenne elle-même peut aussi se saisir de cette avancée pour inscrire le droit à l’avortement comme un droit fondamental en Europe.
Le mouvement #metoo venant des féministes américaines traverse encore le monde. Avec le droit à l’avortement inscrit dans la constitution les féministes française espèrent aussi envoyer un message au monde. Elles adressent un signe universaliste à toutes les femmes, où qu’elles se trouvent, que leur combat, passé, présent et futur n’est pas vain, bien au contraire.
Le parti de la gauche européenne, ses partis membres et son candidat principal sont aux côtés des mouvements féministes et s’engage pour relayer leurs luttes humanistes.
