“Rage against the capitalist machine”
A cultural and political event organized by Die Linke and the European Left, "Rage against the capitalist machine" took place in Berlin, after a visit to commemorate the lives of Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht at the cemetery of Berlin-Friedrichsfelde.
More than 300 people gathered in KOSMOS on Karl-Marx-Allee to share their dissatisfaction with recent attacks by European governments on the social model, and the pervasiveness of the capitalism that puts profit before people.
On the contrary, words of hope and of resistance against the oppression come in speeches from Pierre Laurent, the newly-elected chairman of the European Left Party, Oskar Lafontaine, and Jean Luc Mélenchon, President of France's Parti de Gauche. The welcome address was made by Gesine Lötzsch and Klaus Ernst, with moderation by Diether Dehm.
