EL Executive Board Meeting

The European Left Executive Board is meeting in Athens from 10 to 12 October.
The main topics discussed during the Executive Board meeting will be:

1. Current developments in international relations, in particular foreign and security policy of the EU
2. Current economic crisis that puts under question the pillars of the capitalist model and way of production
3. Ecological challenges resulting from the EU policies, in particular environment policy, climate change and energy policy, aspects of a social and ecological sustainable development of the EU and other European countries, referring to the 3rd pillar of the 2007 EL Congress in Prague
4. The ongoing EL campaign against precarity

On Saturday evening, 11 October, the EL is organising a public event “Latin America and Europe: Living Memory – Common Future Struggles”. The EL and the host party Synaspismos express their solidarity to the Latin American peoples for their past and current struggles. This event will take place on the occasion of the commemoration of the colonization of Latin America.
