El-fem: Motion to the 1st Congress of the EL
Dear comrades,
El-fem, the women's network of EL, has at it's Berlin-meeting 10th/11th of June worked out two motions for the 1st EL-congress, they are attached. Our French comrades have announced that they will possibly make some additions and amendments. We are highly interested in an vivid discussion and we will sent you all contributions as soon as possible.
El-fem is still working on "Feminist Alternatives for another Europe"
which should be implemented in the main resolution of the ELP-congress.
You too will receive the "Feminist Alternatives..." as soon as possible.

Preamble
Addition:
“El-fem is a feminist political subject that works within the EL and is organised autonomously and horizontally. It maintains relations with the women’s movement and the feminist movement (Women for Peace…), and with associations and women who fight for the right of women.”
Article 5, line 1
Addition:
“The EL fixes the following to be its goals and principles.”
Article 5, last paragraph
to “areas of life”. Insert paragraph break.

Article 8
Addition:
“5. The agreements or proposals that the EL makes with regard to women’s topics will have to be debated first in el-fem. El-fem is a structure of women who develop feminist policy and are organised independently. It has the right to make proposals and to set priorities in all subjects that fall into its competence, and which concern especially the development of its relationships with the women’s movement in general und the feminist movement in particular.”
Article 10, subtitle 3
Addition: (in accordance with the valid article 19)
“…selects the chairwoman/chairman of the EL and the deputy chairwoman/chairman upon suggestion of the Council of the Party Chairwomen/Chairmen on the basis of the principles of rotation and of gender parity”.
Article 12, line 4
Addition:
“The delegates are selected by their parties with a minimum women’s quota of 50 percent”.
Article 12, new line 8
Add a new paragraph after “do not have to fully use the number of its delegates”:
“After its constitution, el-fem will participate as a delegation at the congress of the EL”.
Article 14, line 4

Add a third subtitle:
