The European Left - A Networking Party

The EL is open to everyone who is interested in left policy and actions. We have therefore chosen open structures and the principle of a networking party. A unique feature of the EL structure is the integration of working groups and actors of all kinds. This reflects the intention of the EL to open politics to citizens, and to carry through common demands with coordinated action.READ MORE

Economic Policy

The EL is convinced that the political Left has to contribute in a very concrete way to the broad discussion about alternatives to the neo-liberal policy, which dominates today all economic processes in the EU and in the EU member countries. Therefore, in order to focus more intensively on economic policy – both on a theoretical and political level – the EL has created a working group on this subject.More Information

Education

The European Left Party is against the process of transforming higher education into a motor of the neo-liberal economic model, serving the interests of private business and the market. It supports the idea of a European university as a public and free service, able to guarantee the right of free access to knowledge and science to all European citizens.More information

Energy supply companies act in favour of their shareholders rather than serving the interests of the society and the environment. Democratic control over energy policy therefore is one of the key issues of European politics.More Information
