The EL is open to everybody, who is intrested in left policy and actions. We have therefore chosen open structures and the principle of a networking party.
The European Left - a networking party
A unique feature of the EL structure is the integration of working groups and actors of all kinds. This reflects the intention of the EL to open politics to citizens, to carry through common demands by coordinated action. Read more

Freedom and civil rights
The European left party acquires a key competence in such issues as peace and social policies. Hence, from now on, the EL will have to work more intensively and conceptually on the two issues: fundamental, freedom and civil rights. Finding a “face” is an evidently urgent issue for the EL. Therefore the EL decided in January to form a working group of freedom and civil rights. As mentioned, the EL should draw its profile by emphasising peace and social state. Nevertheless, the EL should also search for further political bases in which the European population might identify itself. More Information
Working group on Energy and Climate Policies

Working group for economic policy
We want to initiate and to realize the building up of a working structure inside the Party of the European Left for theoretical and political work on economic policy. We are convinced that the political Left has to contribute in very concrete way to the broad discussion about alternatives to the neoliberal policy dominating today all economic processes in the EU and the EU member countries. Education, Health care, social care and labour policies are often, on the basis of various and very different treaties, more and more in charge of local institutions. More Information
